Funded in part by Arts for All Kentucky, “For the Trees” is a collection of work that celebrates small, often-overlooked moments of natural wonder. In this series, I explore how a bottom-up, detail-oriented processing style—common in the autistic experience—can shape a deep and intimate relationship with place. Each felting features a few trailside blossoms, branches, or rocks rendered in sharp focus against a softened background, inviting viewers to consider the power of attention. Something that might seem incidental on a long journey becomes the central subject, encouraging a slower, more curious way of seeing the natural world.
